Tuscan kale is an Italian variety that is quite strong in taste. It tolerates both hot and cold conditions. It is rich in vitamins especially Vitamin A and very rich in minerals. It is decoratiove good for use in the kitchen and chooks love it. A "Lacinato" or "Dinosaur" type kale. Very easy to grow. Tolerant to hot and cold climates. Mild flavour and very rich in viatmins. Harvest by clipping the individual leaves generally after 2 months after sowing the seed for cabbage like eating, or 4-5 weeks for salad like eating. Very good to have growing in the garden. This is an old Heirloom variety Kale. It originates from Italy where it is a favourite among gardeners. It has a strong rich flavour that makes it very popular as a chook food resulting in dark rich coloured egg yolks. It also makes a great compost ingredient. It has very large, erect, blue/black, green leaves that have a crinkled bubbly look making it a favourite in the ornamental garden as well. slightly curled appearance in their leaves. The leaves can grow up to 40cm in length. It is a fast growing hardy green which will benefit strongly from soil enrichment using compost and grown in full sun. It tolerates frost. It can be planted all year round, though does best in cooler seasons. They are not as afflicted with pests as are other cole crops like cabbage. Direct sow seeds where you wish to grow the plant. Make drills in the soil, and apply 2 seeds every 20-30cm. Thin out to one seedling every 20-30cm when more established. Ensure adequate water is applied when starting the germination and growing. Can apply a liquid fertiliser every two weeks. QTY 330 seeds
